LA Blended Learning(Letter to Japan)

Dear Mr Tomodachi,

I had read in the newspaper about the recent earthquake in Japan and I wish to offer my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I am sure that it had been a traumatizing experience for the Japanese people. However, I am sure that you will definitely be able to recover and rebuilt, leaving the past behind and focus on the future. Isn't this the resilient spirit of the Japanese people.

I know that because of news of the explosion of the nuclear reactor, people are getting increasingly worried and wary, I am sure that you also feel the same, some of you might even doubt that the government is hiding something from the people, however, I urge you to keep your faith in the government and cooperate with it, and as one people and one nation, overcome this tragedy.

As a piece of good news, I am glad to tell you that aid in the form of food, daily necessities and other stuff are arriving in great numbers to your country as a result of donations of generous people all over the world, I hope that with the aid, Japan will be able to recover more quickly, and regain her place as an Asian economic power, as and Asian tiger.

I am from Singapore and my government had sent a search and rescue team forward to Japan to help in the rescue efforts. Teams from different countries, even China who I believe is having a territoral dispute with Japan, has sent a team to Japan, it is indeed heartening to see countries put aside their difference when other countries need help, I hope that this will engage the two countries on a cordial footing and the dispute will be resolved soon.

Meanwhile, you should be heartened by the increasingly flood of aids and the better state of your country, you should look forward to the future, your future and the future of Japan, which I believe is a glorious one!

Your faithfully,
Zi Jie
